The Minnesota Twins Drinking Game

Just sitting around the TV and drinking beer for a Minnesota Twins game is boring. Yeah, Bert Blyleven's slurring of words gets funnier as the game goes on, but in all reality the slow pace of taking a drink whenever just gets old. You need to get in a rhythm.

And that's why with 6 days until the Twins open up the 2011 season in Toronto, I am going to let you guys in on a little secret called: The Minnesota Twins Drinking Game.

Here's how it works...

- For every batter, you take a drink no matter what

- For every base the batter gains, you drink that number of bases
Example: Denard Span draws a walk, you take one drink.

-For every run driven in that the batter gains, you take that number of drinks
Example: Yoshi hits a double and Span scores from first, you take three drinks.

- If the batter strikes out, you take a drink...unless he strikes out looking...then it's two.

- Drink two for a double play

It sounds simple enough, but then the tricky part is the special situations throughout the game that really gets to you...

- Every time Bert circles someone, take a drink.

- Every time Bert butchers a name, take a drink.

- Every time Bert says "at the major league level", take a drink.

- Every time Bert says "right here", take a drink.

- If Michael Cuddyer strikes out, double strikeout drinks.

- If Joe Mauer hits into a double play, drink four

- If Anthony Slama comes into the game, you must "Slama" your drink.

- And of course, if the Twins win, you must finish your drink.

Try this once, if you're not obliterated by the fifth inning, you're not doing it right (or the Twins are getting shut out)
